Official Downloads:

Above you’ll find links to downloadable editions of the text of For the Win. These downloads are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-ShareAlike license, which lets you share it, remix it, and share your remixes, provided that you do so on a noncommercial basis. Some people don’t understand why I do this — so check out this post if you want my topline explanation for why I do this crazy thing.

It’s kind of a tradition around here that my readers convert my ebooks to their favorite formats and send them to me here, and it’s one that I love! If you’ve converted these files to another format, send them to me and I’ll host them, but before you do, make sure you read the following:

  • Only one conversion per format, first come, first serve. That means that if someone’s already converted the file to a Femellhebber 3000 document, that’s the one you’re going to find here. I just don’t know enough about esoteric readers to adjudicate disputes about what the ideal format is for your favorite device.
  • Make sure include a link to the reader as well. When you send me an ebook file, make sure that you include a link to the website for the reader technology as well so that I can include it below.
  • No cover art. The text of this book is freely copyable, the cover, not so much. The rights to it are controlled by my publisher, so don’t include it with your file.
  • No DRM. The Creative Commons license prohibits sharing the file with “DRM” (sometimes called “copy-protection”) on it, and that’s fine by me. Don’t send me the book with DRM on it. If you’re converting to a format that has a DRM option, make sure it’s switched off.

    Hey there !
I just wanted to say that I enjoyed reading Little Brother and because of that I’ll start to read FTW and I’ll buy it if that is possible for me here in Germany -but I guess that my local bookstore is able to do it.

I’ll do so because of four things actually :

    1. I like CC-licensed work, because it gives me as a consumer a lot of freedom :D

E.g. that I start can reading on Saturday evenings or night where my bookstore is closed :D

    2. I think ‘Little Brother’ was a blast -sorry that I couldn’t find a more formal word for discribing.

    3. I am a Gamer :)

    4. -and obviously I love (!) reading books.

    So long,
Goldsteal – ‘Fire in the hole !’

P.S: Maybe this (http://www.flattr.com/) would be another way to earn some money for the things anyone of you is doing. The concept sounds promising anyway …
    (Just my 2 cents :D )

Just wanted to say a quick thank you for offering your books as free downloads. As a librarian, and an avid reader, I can say that this is *very* much appreciated. I can’t wait to start reading on my nook tonight.

I loved the book. After I finished, I was reminded of Elhrair-ah’s legend in Watership Down: All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a Thousand Enemies. And whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first, they must catch you, digger, listener, runner. Prince with a swift warning. Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed.

I loved this book! at first I was kind of scared to read it after reading Little Brother and wondering how anything could stand up to it but FTW did a awesome job and i cant wait for his next book! I do wonder what happened to Leonard if he ended up going home or not but either way what a AWESOME book kinda said that Lu died but good book :)

Hey, so I know there’s already a Kindle and Mobi version (er, redundant?), but neither conversions contain chapter markers. I’m kind of used to this standard on my Kindle now, and wonder if there’s anything in Creative Commons that prohibit it (or whether you prefer to avoid any meta-markup). After I read it, I may roll my own Mobi to add in chapter markers for future readings/reference.

Thanks, fixed! If it’s the same to you, it’s easier if you just paste in the broken sentence.

Any compressed (.ZIP etc) version of the html download? My tired old phone can’t directly view that big file.
