Hey, Chris! All the books are standalones except for Homeland, which is the sequel to Little Brother. My most recent novel is Walkaway and my most recent collection is Radicalized.
Will you make “Unauthorized Bread” available as an ebook?
It’s in Radicalized:
https://craphound.com/category/radicalized-full/
Hi Cory, can you please make a RSS feed available for this shop – or add a “book-release” category to your blog – so I can get a single alert specifically for when you release Attack Surface and future ebooks? I like your podcast and other blogs but we live in a news-overload world and it is too hard to keep on top of general feed all the time. Thanks! :)
I don’t think so! The shop is a bunch of custom work and I think it would probably be very expensive to hire a programmer to add an RSS feature. I’m sorry!
Hi Cory,
Will you be listing “attack surface” for sale , e-book, on your site?
Yup! With luck on Oct 13!
Hi Cory,
Is there anywhere in the UK to buy the Little Brother/Homeland re-issue? My local small bookstore, large chain and even internet monopolist don’t seem to be able to get me one and I don’t see it here.
Cheers
Shaun
I’m sorry to say you’ll have to buy it from a US (or maybe EU) bookseller; Homeland and Little Brother were published by two different presses in the UK and there was no way to coordinate a reissue there. But you should be able to get it stores like Otherland in Berlin?
Hi, I hope you don’t mind me making a suggestion for the user who wanted a specific version of your books in the UK. Hopefully they will find a local store with access to order. But if not, maybe check the site bookdepository
Best of luck. Cheers!
Hay Corry,
I live in France, and we’re in our second lockdown; finally some time to read some books. But our local bookstores are closed as well.
So is it possible to buy the Little Brother triptyque and The Rapture of the Nerds in their dead trees versions somewhere else then at Amazone? I really prefer to support some local bookstore instead of Jeff Bezos’ stockholders.
Looking forward to read Attack Surface!
Kind greetings ,
Huby
Hey, Huby! Sorry, I don’t know much about booksellers in France (or even if they’re operating during the lockdown). The American Bookstore in Amsterdam, Otherland in Berlin, and Science Fiction Bokhandeln in Stockholm are pretty good about stocking my books, though.
Hey Cory,
You just mentioned on the podcast that there is an official audiobook of Someone Comes to Town, Someone Leaves Town but there is no link above. Where can one obtain it?
Also, is there an audiobook planned for How To Destroy Surveillance Capital?
Thanks for the reminder, Austin! The audio’s there now. I’m hoping to announce an audio project for HTDSC soon!
cool. thanks for the speedy response. Now go and take some time off!
Hey, great to buy non-DRM e-books directly from the author! Any chance that you can distribute translated versions here, too? I’m asking specifically for German ones :)
Thanks!
Seems unlikely, but I’ll try!
Any way to buy a signed copy of Walkaway book in Canada ?
I see sometimes your books are available at http://www.darkdel.com, but it does seem it’s the newest releases.
Cheers
Normally I visit Canada several times a year and sign stock at stores while I’m there. That’s not happened since this time last year, when I was in Kelowna, my last trip before lockdown. Once travel is possible again, I’ll get back to signing stock in Canada but for now I can only sign books at bookstores I can walk to.
Cory, I love your work & wish I could buy a Cory Doctorow t-shirt.
Ha! That’s very kind of you. There’s always this: https://www.litographs.com/collections/little-brother/products/brother-tee
Hi Cory!
Is there a reason why some of your fictional works such as Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow aren’t in audiobook format? Should we expect them anytime in the future? Does Tor and PM Press have anything to do with it, and if so, how come considering that you own the audiobook rights to your works?
Thanks in advance,
Samuel “Iron Curtain” Abram
Hey Cory, I’m really enjoying the Little Brother trilogy, and just finished the short “Lawful Interception”. I was hoping to read “Force Multiplier” next, but it’s not available in either the Kobo eBook store nor the Amazon.ca store. Any chance of buying it from you directly? Thanks.
Sorry! It’ll be available in an upcoming short story collection
Is there a way that I can buy the books without having to use Amazon? Ideally because I’d like to avoid using Amazon, and would rather buy the books independently/from independent publishers instead
Yes! you can buy anywhere – I’m overdue to replace those Amazon links with Bookshop.org links – thanks for the reminder.
Love your work, man.
I just re-read Little Brother and I picked up the 2-volume-1-book set at Powell’s City of Books so I’ll be reading Homeland soon. Since I just turned 50 the print seems to have shrunk so I stopped by here to see if there was a free e-version. I guess I’ll have to put my glasses on and do my bedtime reading with the light on (to the chagrin of lovely wife).
Thanks again for your work.
Aww, thanks, Alex! The free download is at https://craphound.com/littlebrother/download/
When will Chokepoint Capitalism be available for purchase here?
It throws me an error when I try buying it here:
http://www.beacon.org/Chokepoint-Capitalism-P1856.aspx
It’ll be here or or about the on-sale date, Sept 27. Thanks!
Overclocked currently links to Amazon instead of bookshop.org.
Also, it would be really useful if the book descriptions were on this page, or the book image at least linked to the category page.
You’re right – however, I’m afraid I can’t fix it. The developer who built the store is very busy and the minimum cost to make any changes is >$500 and it’s just not worth it. I keep waiting for someone to turn something like my store into a product, rather than a one-off!
Hi Cory, I missed the Kickstarter/pre-order for Attack Surface, I’m wondering is there a way to buy/obtain Force Multiplier? Thanks, and understand if that’s not possible. Cheers!
Hey, Jim! I’m planning a short story collection with Force Multiplier, probably next year (2024). There’s nothing else planned until then, sorry!
Help, please. I paid for Chokepoint Capitalism today on PayPal and never received a link for a download. I don’t see where to get help on that so I’m leaving a comment here.
Hey, Damon, you should have got an email from sendowl.com with the download link – I’ll resend it now and send you an email direct with the link as well.
I like to listen to the book, but then have an e-print version to reference later. Any deals for buying a book simultaneously in two different formats like that? And do e-purchases support my local bookstore? Just wondering.
Alas, the ebooks, audio and print are generally from different publishers, so this kind of bundling isn’t practical.
Today I tried to buy some of your books, but the paypal link is a message of page not exists, I hope that this can be fixed so I can finally get to read your books.
Maybe the problem is that I’m from México?
Can you tell me which book you had this problem with?
Hi – If I buy an audiobook, can I then play it on my smartphone like any other audiobook or podcast? Is there an app to do this? Thanks
Yup – you can play it in any MP3 player app or audiobook player app.
Hey Cory, love your work. Is there a way to pay with crypto on this website?
There are a few self-hosted services that you can embed within your website to accept and validate crypto payments.
Sorry, no.
Impossible to but audio Walkaway from NL … Just so you know. I literally tried 4 or 5 different services
I don’t think I get the complaint – can you just buy it from my shop, e.g. the webpage you’re leaving this comment on?
Hi Cory, Thanks for great interviews on CanadaLand and ABC Future Tense recently. I’m impressed by your Aussie literate references “woolies” and the AU/US “Free Trade” deal which binds us to ever worsening US copyright laws, which you used in the ABC interview.
Your enshittification (good) shit has been reaching me just as my patience with Amazon/Audible is running out. I recently sent a complaint to the ACCC (The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) about my refusal to sign up to a subscription to Audible/Amazon to enable me to get access to (most) audiobooks. I got a polite call from a public servant asking me about my experience, but noting, regrettably, that unless Amazon is seen to be price gouging, that their monopoly doesn’t break any consumer laws in Australia.
Thank F*CK that I can get your new book directly from Craphound!
Keep up the good work on global literacy on the platform scams. As an old USENET hound in the 80s, I instinctively knew that shit Facebook and its successors (and properties) was REALLY BAD social media, and with a fair amount of social friction, I abstain, mostly…
sincerely,
…|<
Thank you, Keith! Yeah, I keep up with Auspol a bit and have visited often enough to be able to relate to local issues, thankfully!
Really hope you enjoy the books.
Will “The Canadian Miracle” be available as ebook in this page?
