the thing is that blogs and wikipedia have popped up in the last 10 years, while the books, and how to figure out how "correct" they are, have been with us at least 200 years...
so the current generation of librarians working right now, and the generation being educated, have not built up the mental system for checking the correctness of a blog or wikipedia page. This in comparison to checking physical books, where one get the process hammered into one during the general education, as its so worked out in detail...
