Unfortunately, the audio is a little too noisy in this clip, any chance you could pop a link and point me to the premise or a write up of your "With A Little Help" project? Really intrigued, just can't listen to the clip without waking people up around here...
I’m intrigued about this up-and-coming publishing experiment. I can’t wait to see how you go about re-publishing the updated books from month to month. Obviously, as a Tor author, you’re probably surrounded by advisors, so you know the ins and outs of self-publishing with such places as Lulu Publishing. Remember, depending on your distribution package with Lulu, anything you submit goes directly to Amazon via Ingram, which means lots and lots of clutter around your good name. I printed four books privately with Lulu. I never approved them to be published, which they admitted in several emails. Nevertheless, the four “test prints” were mistakenly uploaded to Ingram. Now, I got these four “Out of Print--Limited Availability” titles under my name, and Ingram won’t delete them without a court order. So if you’re looking at deleting the older prints from Ingram databases from month to month, don’t expect Lulu, or Ingram for that matter, to take the high road without a lawyer paving the way.
Fascinating apple cart of ideas, Cory. Curious, could a buyer of the hyper-premium option commission a story based on their own lives?
[...] essentially, is the book will be available in several formats at various prices. There’s a video presentation on Doctorow’s blog if you want more detail, although be warned the audio’s a bit rough. [...]
