Christian Wohrl undertook a German fan-translation of my novel Little Brother, working on his daily train-commute. He's just finished the work and posted "version 1" on his site. The whole text is CC licensed, of course! (Thanks, Christian!) -- UPDATE: Here's the German edition in multiple formats., thanks to Rollmops! 3 Responses to “Little Brother German fan-translation”Leave a Reply |
It’s about growing up in the near future where things have kept going on the way they’ve been going, and it’s about hacking as a habit of mind, but mostly it’s about growing up and changing and looking at the world and asking what you can do about that. The teenage voice is pitch-perfect. I couldn’t put it down, and I loved it.

Yes! I already read the original, but this translation comes just in the right time, so that I can give it to my friends as a present. A lot of them don't like to read english books. Once again the concept of a free book works! I would even buy this! Can I? Where?
When will you publish the German translation as a book? Can't wait...
Danke schön Christian! Ich habe deine Übersetzung gelesen UND das Buch gekauft (hätte ich mich nicht getraut ohne deine Arbeit)
