Hope you don't mind the question... how does the script compare to the novel? Is it faithful? Did they have to cut much out?
It sounds good, disappointed I won't get to see it.
I think it's very good -- I had the chance to read and comment on it extensively. But I haven't seen it performed yet!
Since Little Brother is released under By-NC-SA CC license, doesn't that mean that the script has to be released under a similar license? I'd REALLY like to see the play, and I'm working on getting there, but if I'm unable to I'd at least like to read the script.
No -- they negotiated a commercial license
That is very cool. Big congrats!
Is this the first time one of your works has been adapted as a play?
Is there anywasy to get a copy of the script that could be used as teaching material?
I think you'd have to contact the theater company directly on that one!
Have you tried to get a recording of the performance of the play online for free?
I don't know what the commercial license says, but promoting it in other places of the world would probably help your counterparty to get some more money out of the license as well.
The topic sure has potential.
I saw the play last week and I really feel it lived up to the extremely high standard of the book. I really enjoyed how they used minimal set and props, but truly conveyed the action and emotion. Most of all, it kept true to your novel, which is my biggest issue with adaptations. I hope you enjoy it. Are you doing any other events in Chicago while you are visiting?
