  2. If a principal, over the objections of teachers, challenges a book because of its positive depiction of a teacher who challenge rules established by the principal, does that qualify as irony, or the opposite of irony?

    I remember JK Rowling saying how flattered she was to see her name alongside the likes of Twain and Vonnegut among the most-challenged books in American schools. You're in good company.

    On the one hand, it's a pity that we even have to have these conversations anymore. On the other, there's something gratifying in knowing that you've hit a nerve among people who don't want hacker culture encouraged or authority questioned.
