Speaking in London next Monday

This coming Monday, October 10th, I’ll be doing a reading/signing at the Oxford Street Borders in London. Also appearing is Jon Courtenay-Grimwood, author of the newly released 9Tail Fox. The whole thing is organized by legendary cyberpunk doyenne Pat Cadigan, and the event promises to be a ton of fun. Festivities begin at 6:30, but Cadigan sez, “Come early, get good seats.”

When: Monday, October 10th, 6:30PM
Where: Borders Oxford Street, London (Oxford Circus tube)

That’s great news. I’m there. S’only 5 minutes from my office.

By the way, I really admire the principled stand you took on the Google / China issue on Monday’s TWiT.

I mean, where does it end?

What if the State of Kentucky said that they were going to ban Google unless it displayed search results on creation as highly as search results on evolution? Would you expect Google to roll over and whine “Oh, we have to be in Kentucky to keep the shareholders happy”

What if Iran said “No Google unless it censors all mention of the United States”

    makes me so mad!!!…..

Last night was really good, though I’m irritated I couldn’t stay for the pub conversation stuff as well. Thanks for the heads-up on Boing Boing. Would you be able to give Pat Cadogan my email address for the mailing list she mentioned, please?

Hope to see you again at the other gig you mentioned. Care to remind me (us all) of the details, please? :o)

    Owen x
