29JUL98: Family and work complications have cropped up for Cynther, and she won't be attending this year! We're poorer for her absence.

29JUL98: How to check in:

• Take the Bill McDonald Parkway South from Interstate 5.
• Pass 25th Street.
• The next street Right is South College Drive. South College makes a T ending at the Visitors Center.
• Turn Left onto West College Drive, which T ends at Highland Drive. Turn right.
• Just past the Dining hall is a clump of 4 buildings.
• One of them (can't tell which from the map) is Highland Hall.
• Just past it is High Street Hall. If you pass that, Canada House, or the big Performing Arts Center, you've gone too far.
• When you arrive at the 4-building housing complex, you cannot immediately check into Highland, your destination dorm.
• Instead, follow the check-in signs to ALPHA building, which is right in front.
• There is a parking lot immediately in front of the buildings.
• You will be asked to pay as you enter. They already have your $28 deposit ($36 for a double) which represents one night's stay; you'll be responsible for the rest. You may pay by VISA, Mastercard, check or cash.
