What is reality? Scientific theory is slippery, so it's hard to keep up. Latest news – a theory that dispenses with black holes in favor of gravastars, "exotic bubble[s] of superdense matter." A whole class of science friction novels and stories are gonna be obsolete if this thinking catches on....

Space Imaging acquires one-meter resolution images of various locations on earth from the IKONOS commercial imaging satellite. The company's published a page of its top 10 images for 2001, including a September 12 shot of the World Trade Center.

The Nirvana War. Courtney Love sued to take control of Nirvana's music; Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic filed a countersuit last month "labeling the Hole singer a 'greedy prima donna' with a 'waning recording and acting career' and accusing her of using her late husband's music to 'further her own career goals.'" Cobain's mother has issued a press release slamming Krist and Dave.
