Because I both admire the quality of your writing and your decision to post "Down and Out..." online for free reading, I wanted to support your work with cash. I trucked on down to Border's and bought a copy. It was believable, enjoyable and clever, I didn't want it to end so quickly.

I downloaded EST, read some of it, then ordered the book online. What's extraordinary about this? It's the fact that I don't read sci-fi (unless Margaret Atwood's Oryx_and_Crake counts), never browse the sci-fi shelves at the bookstores or libraries, and have no interest in the genre whatsoever. But I knew of your book from seeing it at boingboing (this is from someone who knows the names of 3 sci-fi writers in total - and Asimov doesn't count since I know him from non-fiction works), and after skimming a few pages of the download, determined that it was worthy of purchase. Kudos for making your work available for free online! Otherwise, I'd have never heard of it nor would I be enjoying it today.

Hi Cory,

Remember me? I guess not.
I am this loony who wanted to translate your D&OitMK in Dutch a year or so ago.
Back then you held back from giving me permission.
(You wanted to try and sell the rights to that at a bizzcon in Frankfurt or sumfin')
But now you've re-licensed your work - as I understand it, correct me if i'm wrong - I can just go ahead and do it?

Please let me know. I've got less time on my hands now, but I'm still itching to do this.

And when i'm done, is there a chance of letting me do your 0wnz0red as well? It'd be just in time for the Nebula...

I was introduced to Craphound by my brother-in-law, and I must confess that I've become captivated, nay, fixated on what you're doing here. Eastern Standard Tribe is turning out to be one of the best novels I've read this year, and while I'm disciplining myself to read the whole thing on the screen before purchasing the codex, I can't wait to go buy it for myself and a couple friends.
