It is interesting because for certain types of rifle, a 3D printer is completely unnecessary. The only thing that you need to modify certain rifles is a twist tie or a bit of wire. Telephone wire would probably work just fine as well.

Now when 3D printers really start becoming popular, I would not at all be surprised if politicians tried to use automatic weapons as a reason to regulate the technology. But then why not regulate telephone wires and twist ties. Also, can you imagine trying to invent a bit of wire that could be used for everything besides modifying AK style semi auto rifles? It would pretty much be impossible.]]></description>
